Milk & More, Britain’s largest milk delivery service is rolling out its quietest and most environmentally friendly milk delivery vehicles to date, following its purchase of 200 electric Work L40 StreetScooters.
The £6.5 million investment in the StreetScooters is part of a strategy to secure the future of the much-loved British milkman.

The new fleet will be the first of its kind in the UK and will be the make the brand the largest operators of electric vehicles in the country. Milk & More is also the first UK company to operate the StreetScooter EV van, which is currently only used in Germany by Deutsche Post who also own the company.
Noise reduction is a key customer benefit of the new floats and a very important one, given that many of the milkmen and women deliver to customers’ homes mostly by 7am.  The new vans are capable of carrying 860 pints of milk at a time, whilst offering an electric driving range of 75 miles.
The StreetScooter is also in keeping with the tradition of British milkmen, who have used electric vehicles for their deliveries since 1930.  Today Milk & More makes more than 1.5m deliveries to over 500,000 UK households each week and says is likely to add to the 200 StreetScooters later in the year.
The Work L40 from SteetScooter offers:
Top speed: 85 km/h (electronically limited)
Total load: 895 kg
Range: 118 km (NEFZ); 80 km (Post approved)
Battery: 30 kWh Lithium-ion
